When i was little, when people said "puma" I thought they were talking about Pumbaa from The Lion King.
LOL.
anywaysssss I drew this awhile back on my giga sketch book that i love its the first one ive ever had LOL but ya i was practicing making loose lines and such and exxagerating the perspective. And I found it again and wanted to make it digital so here it is!! Ive really been trying to make my style more realistic/detailed/better anatomy/whatever but i can only seem to do it on paper not on digital, it hink its the way I sketch on digital idk I was also practicing on shading.
im going to request a critique because i havent really done that yet LOL i know the color tempeture and pallete and such might make it unoriginal because its used alot but I jsut love it <3 ;u;
Ps you may have noticed i kinda dropped off for like 3 or 4 days... well thats because my dog is very sick with an auto immune dissease and was in the urgent care for 2 days :c hes recovering <3333
When i firs this i was awe- struck because it was very appealing due to the shading. I love the fact that this art is 3D and the fact the lion is ' jumping' out towards you', this has quite a dynamic effect which was i why i gave a 5 on the impact.
The lighting has also been done excellently as they add more tones to his fur and it shows you understand the colour combinations very well. But not only that, the art has been done with great detail and concentration around the face has been done excellently. which is why i have it a 4 on it's technique.
I've never quite seen an art like this before, not even a 3D lion, but i love the way the claws are coming together, and it shows that you have done some research and followed the body anatomy of this creature. This is why i gave the originality a 3.5
One thing i have a problem with that art is that the eyes are too dark. There could have been a white highlight in the eye or practically any colour highlight to 'bring out' the eye in this.
On the whole this art has received positive feedback and well done on creating this beautiful deviation. I hope you continue to make more! Good luck for the future!
This leaps out from your gallery. I like the anatomy, the perspective and the blowing back of the fur to create movement. I can see the different shading techniques. You've used various tones of orange, yellow and brown for the light areas. Even though, there is no background, we can imagine this is at sunset. You've used tones of purple and blue for shading, which complements well with the lighter colours. The shine on the claws and teeth are striking.
Regarding the eyes, did you mean omit them? It does look menacing and threatening without them.
Suggestions? Well, just a random one - perhaps have him drooling.
Oh wow <333 Thank you so much for this long comment ;u; it means alot when people take time out of their day just to write a long comment to me
And ya i kinda wanted a sunset look. Like he was hunting at sunset or something lol.
And ya I meant to leave the eyes out Eyes are usually the first thing people look at in a picture. just automatically really, just like talking to someone and idk i thought it would be cool to leave them out. and thank you
LOL Thats an awesome idea!! i need to do that next time i draw a snarling animal C:
